I
invented the In-Wall Ready Cord because I was looking for a more
convenient way to store extension cords and to have them readily
available.
It seemed every time I needed an extension cord I had to find one.
Sometimes the cord wasn’t long enough; other times it was
too long (which can be a safety hazard in a garage or workshop);
and all too often they were tangled and knotted. The final step
was when I was finished with the cord, they had to be rolled up,
tied, and stored somewhere.
I determined the only places I regularly used an extension cord
were in my garage or workshop. I thought it would be so nice to
be able to just pull one out of the wall. When I couldn't find one,
I decided to make it myself.
I have several interests that have led to other invention, but
to date have only patented the In-Wall Ready Cord.
I was born in Alabama, but was raised in Indiana. After high school,
I joined the Marine Corps, and later began work as a carpenter.
I ultimately moved to Arizona and started my own contracting business
in 1979. I am still building houses today. |
